At meeting on Tuesday, June 30, the Executive Committee of the Czech Futnet Association announced the postponement of the World Futnet championship to 2021. The Championship was to be held at the O2 Universum in Prague this November. "Despite the ever-improving situation in the fight against coronavirus, we have come to the conclusion that we will postpone the championship for a year. Due to the large number of foreign players and fans, the current international travel situation and difficult economic situation do not give us a better option than postponing the biggest futnet event to November 2021. The most important thing for us as organizers is to ensure the health of athletes, fans and all people at the championship," said President of the Czech Futnet Association Kamil Kleník.

The decision to postpone the championship was made on the basis of a proposal from the Organizing Team of WCH 2020, which was clearly approved by the Executive Committee. The new date of the World Championship is scheduled for November 26-28, 2021. "We believe that next year the entire sports world will fully return to normal and the World Championship in Prague will be one of the sporting celebration of the fact that we have 100% dealt with the pandemic," says Kleník.

So the futnet players will have to a little wait until the peak of the season. "It is sad, but it is the most sensible solution. On the other hand, I get more time to practise and catch up with this year´s break due to pandemic situation. I´m still looking forward to it. It will be a great championship," adds the Czech player Ondřej Vít.

Fans who have already bought tickets to the World Championship 2020 in advance do not have to despair. Tickets will be valid next year.
